Jul 08, 2016  I don’t think you should, first off; since it more or less involves pirating (which is more illegal than immoral), but if you really want it, just look for torrents of it. That’ll at least put you. This is an old question but everyone who answered it is incorrect (I’m googling for AoE on Mac so I came across this). I had to go to the Apple store to buy the game for Mac, because I used to use PC. Basically I fluctuated back and forth from Mac. Age of Empires, the pivotal RTS that launched a 20-year legacy returns in definitive form for Windows 10 PCs. Yeah just tried to download this game and it will not open the installation screen. Error claims to have a missing file for Mac OS. Its a shame it was my favorite game while growing up.

For those who can't run this: use old Mac with Mac Classic (up to 9.2.2) OS or MacOS X 10.4 with classic environment.
If not possible - use an emulator like Basilisk II (680x0, up to OS 8.1) or SheepShaver (PPC, up to OS 9.1).

For those of you asking for an update: it is not possible.
This is a PPC application and will not run on Intel Macs that don't support Rosetta. So it can't be run on Lion and forward.
